Ladies Who Tech in Action x General Motors

We are very excited to announce that our next Ladies Who Tech in Action will be held at the General Motors (GM) headquarters in Jinqiao on Thursday 16th November with another three inspiring speakers from Automotive, Semiconductor, and Coding.

Thanks to our previous speaker, Charon Morgan, Head of Engineering at GM and her team for making it happen. General Motors is the first automotive company that appointed its first female CEO - Mary Barra, who is also a lady who tech, who has an engineering background.

It will be a great opportunity to be at GM and experience the culture and hear stories from the speakers. In additon, GM will also be displaying some of their cool cars for us.

GM is also kind enough to offer transportion services for those who are interested in coming from CBD area. The pick up point and time details will be announced soon!

About  Ladies Who Tech (LWT) was started by women who are in the STEM industries and believe in challenging the status quo by encouraging more women to assist and discover their potential in STEM. We want to raise awareness of the lack of women in the STEM industries and help companies to have more diversity.

About Ladies Who Tech in Action While many corporations are embracing diversity and inclusion in corporate policies, there is still a gender gap in STEM industries.

Ladies Who Tech in Action series was established to bring companies and community together to engage in dialogue, foster new relationships, and further professional development to close this gap. Focus of the series: Further the understanding of the trends and roles available in STEM industriesExplore the opportunities and challenges that companies face with fostering diversity and inclusionIdentify steps and action individuals need to take to develop their career in this direction Each event will be hosted in collaboration with a corporation.

There will be several speakers from diverse backgrounds (eg. software, hardware, startup, corporation, government, etc.) each giving an introduction of their journey in STEM, their inspiration, and their current STEM project(s).This will be followed by Q&A and networking.We hope at each event participants will inspire and be inspired.
