This information session will introduce Lifeline Shanghai to those interested in volunteering with a non-profit organisation which supports the English speaking community. LLS believes there is no health without mental health and that talking helps acheive this.


Attendees will gain knowledge of the telephone helpline and other programs, which utilise a broad range of volunteer skills. They will gain insight into some of the reasons people volunteer at LLS and be given an opportunity to consider what they might contribute and gain from joining this community.

Content Outline

Introduction to LLS programs, roles for volunteers, outline of the new volunteer training program, key attributes of successful volunteers and the application process.

Target Audience

English speaking people who are interested in providing anonymous and confidential listening support to individuals experiencing difficulties. Volunteers must be over 21 years, have lived in Shanghai for at least 6 months and have lived outside of China.
