The Art Afrik Watoto event aspires to give “Watoto” which means junior in Swahili, a warm place to experience a few African special traditions and cultures through exciting activities such as:

13:10 to 13:40

Dance Warm-up I6a-6pxMngH5ePH3hbr_Mn65p-B5tthppsMAwwk2

Our team of talented dancers will introduce African music and dance to begin the interactive session. This high energy segment will keep the children excited as body movements prepare them for the literary journey ahead. This warm-up allows them to learn a few simple moves that they can repeat and then loosen up with a freestyle at the end of this session.

13:40 to 14:10

Art and face painting

More of the Team's creative nature will get children into character by painting their faces with different unique patterns, to represent a particular element of the story that ends the afternoon.

14:10 to 14:40

You can expect a lively storytelling session and periodic music interludes by this creative team. They will engage the kids by teaching them how to respond to different calls and drum rolls throughout the famous Ugandan folktale  “Nsangi and the Apes”.

Art Afrik Watoto returns in high demand for this special week of celebrating African culture in China. We welcome children from 3 years old and up to be entertained and engaged with authentic African art, dance and literature that will inspire their creativity and global citizenship.
